Questions, answered
How the VitalSync community works — anonymity, moderation, sponsored listings, data rights, and more.
What is VitalSync?
VitalSync is an anonymous community where members share honest reviews of health and beauty products, brands, clinics, and routines. Every submission goes through AI-assisted moderation and human review, and all paid relationships are disclosed in line with FTC guidelines.
How do I join?
Create a free account with an email address and a pseudonymous username. Confirm your email and you can post reviews, comment, upvote, and follow other members. We do not ask for your real name, phone number, or any form of ID.
Is it really anonymous?
Yes. Your username is pseudonymous and is the only identifier shown publicly. Your email is used only for account recovery, notifications you opt into, and moderation. We never display or sell it. You can change your username if it has accidentally become identifying.
How are reviews moderated?
Every submission is scanned by an automated moderation layer (powered by Anthropic Claude) for spam, harassment, doxing, undisclosed promotion, and medical misinformation. Anything borderline, reported, or high-stakes is escalated to a human reviewer. We publish our full criteria in the community guidelines.
Are these real reviews?
Our reviews come from two sources: (1) real community members who joined VitalSync, and (2) seed content posted during launch. Seed content is paraphrased from real public discussion threads, never copied verbatim, never makes specific product efficacy claims, and is clearly labeled "🌱 Launch community" on every byline and profile. As our community grows, real-member content replaces seed content. We'll auto-disable seeding at 100 active real members. See our Disclosures page.
Do you verify purchases?
Not at the moment. Requiring purchase verification would break anonymity and exclude people who bought products in cash, abroad, or were gifted them. Instead, we focus on pattern-based trust signals: account age, review history, writing patterns, and community upvotes. Members can voluntarily attach a redacted receipt to receive a "verified purchase" flag.
How do you handle sponsored brands?
Sponsored listings are clearly labeled with a "Sponsored" badge, both on listing pages and in any feed. A brand paying for placement does not get to edit user reviews, hide negative ratings, or change its aggregate score. Sponsored placement affects visibility only, and that fact is disclosed every time.
Can I trust the ratings?
We show the data honestly: aggregate scores are computed from all qualifying reviews, including negative ones. We remove reviews that violate guidelines (spam, fake, undisclosed promotion) but we do not remove reviews simply because a brand complained. When a score changes materially after moderation, we note it on the brand page.
What is a "Featured" listing?
Featured listings are brands or clinics that have paid for additional visibility on the platform. Featured listings are always labeled as such. Being featured does not change the brand's rating, user reviews, or moderation — it only affects where they appear in discovery.
How do you make money?
Three streams, all disclosed: (1) Optional sponsored listings that brands pay for — labeled "Sponsored." (2) Affiliate commissions when a member buys through a trackable link — we may earn a small percentage at no extra cost to the buyer. (3) Display advertising, served by networks such as Google and labeled as "Advertisement." We follow the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) and disclose each of these on our disclaimer page.
How do I write a good review?
Describe the product or clinic you tried, how long you used it, what changed for you, and anything a future buyer should know. Be specific. Avoid medical claims ("this cured my X"), keep it to your personal experience, and disclose any relationship you have with the brand. Reviews under 30 words, all-caps rants, and obvious promotional copy are usually filtered.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, at any time, from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, username, and any private data. You can optionally also delete your review history; by default, reviews become attributed to "[deleted user]" so they stay useful to the community. Full data deletion requests are honored within 30 days.
How do you handle my data under GDPR and CCPA?
We collect only what we need to run the site: your email, your pseudonymous username, your content, and basic analytics. You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@vitalsync.fit. We honor GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) requests within 30 days and do not sell personal information.
Is any of this medical advice?
No. VitalSync is not a medical service. Reviews reflect members' personal experience, not clinical recommendations. Nothing on the site diagnoses, treats, or prescribes anything. For any medical concern, please consult a qualified healthcare provider.
What are the community guidelines?
No harassment, no misinformation, no spam, no medical advice, no doxing, no undisclosed promotion. Full rules and the consequence ladder (warn, flag, suspend, ban) are on our community guidelines page.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Every post, review, and comment has a "Report" control. Use it. Reports go straight into the moderation queue and are reviewed by the team, not just by automation. You can also email trust@vitalsync.fit for urgent issues like doxing, threats, or impersonation.
How do I become a contributor or verified expert?
Active members with a track record of helpful, well-received reviews can apply for a "contributor" flag. Licensed healthcare or beauty-industry professionals can apply for a "verified expert" flag by submitting verifiable credentials privately to our trust team (we confirm the license with the issuing body and do not publish your identity). Expert flags are a visibility signal, not a license to give medical advice.
Why should brands list on VitalSync?
Because honest review platforms build long-term customer trust better than paid ads. Brands get a dedicated page, structured info, optional sponsored visibility, and direct feedback from real users. In exchange, brands commit to the same rules as everyone else: no fake reviews, no retaliation, no gating negative feedback. Email partnerships@vitalsync.fit to get started.
Who runs VitalSync?
A small independent team focused on honest consumer health and beauty information. We keep the team intentionally anonymous so that the community's reviews — not the founders' personalities — are what the site is judged on. We are not owned by a pharma company, supplement brand, or clinic chain.
Do you operate in my country?
VitalSync is available worldwide. The content is primarily in English and focused on US and EU consumer markets, but members from anywhere can sign up and contribute as long as they follow local law and our community guidelines.
